A note from the studio
01
Why these six.
Some paintings shrink well. Others do not. At sixty inches wide a piece is a scene — you take it in from across a room as one thing. At twenty inches it becomes an object. Something you walk past, notice, look closer at.
I chose the six pieces for the Fall Edition based on which ones actually gain something at that scale. Where the brushwork becomes visible in a way it is not from across a room. Where the water looks different from six inches away than from six feet.
If you have been looking at them and could not tell why I grouped them together — that is the reason.
