In the long spring of 2023, winter and spring took turns ruling the flood plains of the Ottawa River (Kichi Zibi), just steps from our home. One day the light would warm the surface, casting orange and gold across meltwater and snow. The next, winter would return—hard-edged, windblown, blue, and unapologetic.

This back-and-forth—ice to reflection, shadow to colour—was more than weather. It was a conversation. A slow, tango dance between what’s ending and what’s beginning. And then one day, quietly, without fanfare, spring stayed.

The Flood Plains Collection celebrates that transition. That moment in-between, when beauty isn’t static—it’s always becoming. When winter turns to spring.
