Every piece in Colorful World was created stroke by stroke on a drawing surface, delivering original hand-rendered artwork free from algorithms, generative filters, or photographic shortcuts. In a year when most colour arrives pre-mixed by a machine, that fact is the whole show.
Maja paints a world that behaves the way she wants a world to behave. Hearts are spotted. Stars arrive first. People fall in love on a stage. Nothing in these forty-four works is ironic, and that is far harder to do well than irony.
The works are shown here as they hang in Gallery 3, one at a time, at the size they were meant to be seen. Take the room slowly. Nothing on this page is for sale.

The artist
Maja paints by hand, on a drawing surface, stroke by stroke. She has said that painting carries her into another enchanted world full of colour, a place of flowers and trees and small charming houses where happy people and animals live. The forty-four works in Gallery 3 are that place, made one at a time.
