By Maciek Peter Kozlowski — UK Artist of the Year, 2017

Edition of 100 in this size, numbered and recorded. Signed, with a certificate of authenticity. Framed in white wood, ready to hang. Printed to order on fine art, museum-grade matte paper. Ships to Canada and the US.

Numbers are allocated in the order they are claimed. Yours is recorded against your name and never reissued — the low numbers go first, and they do not come back.

One family on the left — two parents, three kids and a grandparent — are walking on the beach. As they cross the little stream, they can see another family to the right: two kids, two moping teenagers, and two parents, enjoying the hazy hot day by the water.

This artwork captures a moment of simple happiness, where family and friendship blend into a shared summer memory.

The stems were the key to these paintings. A brush made them too heavy and too deliberate, so I thinned the paint, gathered it on a paint-stirring stick, and flicked it onto the canvas. The stems arrived through movement rather than being drawn — which is why the two groups lean toward each other the way people actually do.
