Revelation Original

Revelation is about seeing more today than we saw yesterday. It reflects how awareness always evolves, and how uncertainty slowly clarifies into insight when keenly observed. Looking at the artwork longer continues to offer new meanings. The artwork is the same, it has not changed, but the viewer sees more. Their awareness has changed. The piece continues asking the viewer to participate in the act of seeing and re-seeing. It is both a meditation and an invitation to notice how revelation often begins in the overlooked.

"Revelation" began as a photograph taken decades ago during a winter ski crossing of a frozen lake. I snapped a slide, as snow fell under a full moon and the kids moved ahead. The moment would quietly archive itself.

The image captured was unremarkable. A torn airplane chair, abandoned and covered in snow, a fragment of human design out of place. Over time, the image transformed with additional layers that reshaped the scene into something entirely new. Fantasy landscapes in yellow expanses emerged, reading like abstract mountains and valleys shaped by reflective emotion. In the upper portion, a robot-like square face appeared in shades of purple and black. A sentinel form not human, not machine, from time unknown. Other forms revealed themselves and were discovered through attention.
