This piece is called “Happy Planet”. It’s about all those good thoughts, ideas, and actions that happen every day.
The bottom is a modified photograph from 1953 that my uncle Jim Harrison took of a submarine on a beach with lots of bathers on the beach. The middle is an acrylic monoprint, paint applied in one go, and it’s symbolic of mountains and gasses and all things that change. The coloured dots and shapes are all our great kind thoughts, ideas about helping each other, and innovation.
Medium:
Mixed media on aluminum panel with acrylic resin, looks like glass, framed in floating frame.
Size:
24” by 36”
