The Reader

We all know at least one person that loves to read books, one that just absorbs them. This is that person: intellectual, playful, wears glasses, has an English degree, and can quote from Byron to Shakespeare. The base contains an old book tied shut with a string encased in acrylic resin. The content and title of the book is unknown, could be anything. The outside of the book contains dots, like the ones on the glasses, to symbolize the transfer of thoughts from the writer to the reader by way of the book.

Medium:

Plaster bandages on chicken wire structure reinforced with layers of  epoxy resin and painted with acrylic paint.. Plastic coloured "doughnuts” and spiral wire to signify humour and thought transfer from the book to the Reader. Real wire rimmed glasses. Base is transparent epoxy resin encasing a mystery book. Has rubber feet for stability
